Show opening tonight with Asuka going up against Sasha 1st for the Raw Women’s title. It’s time for Sasha/Bayley to implode,(its long overdue, the storyline is getting old and stale) Bayley has been working with tape on her shoulder for weeks. Asuka has been working on during the match.Thanks to Sasha, Bayley is till Smackdown champion.
Rey and Dominick having a chat before Dom’s match. (I am reading that after this match today, Dom will head to the performance centre for more training and a packaging rebrand, not sure if it will include him using a mask)
Kevin Owens out to the announcers table. Kevin has invited Aleister Black to join him.
Angel Garza/Andrade with Zelina Vega on the way to the ring who will face The Street Profits for the RAW Tag Team titles. (its raining red cups – hehe) Zelina once again trying anything possible to get the tide to change but it would be Street Profits keeping the belts today. That frog splash turn in mid air by Montez is mind blowing.
Kayla chatting to Bayley/Sasha. They will have to defend the Women’s Tag Titles in one week at Payback.
Mandy Rose facing Sonya Deville in a NO DQ match but the loser has to leave WWE. I have never seen Mandy Rose have to go to that nasty place. What a match, Mandy took it to Sonya and now Sonya is out. (There is more to this story, for Sonya’s real-life safety it has been decided that she takes a break, for now, this also could be used as an angle to this story)
Seth Rollins/Murphy facing Dominik Mystero/Rey in a street fight. I really hope that today ends this storyline. It’s just gotten way too creepy. I really hope that Dom can do this, let’s get this storyline over. Dom can hold his own but Seth can really hurt Dom if he wants. Dom created the opening he needed. How in the world did Dom kick out of that? Seth with handcuffs, Seth is too busy screaming trash at Rey that Dom has found windows of brilliance. Murphy tried to damage Dom’s eye just like he did with Rey. Seth with a stomp to Dom, all Rey could do was watch with being handcuffed to the ring rope. Its good hearing the Universe showing their disapproval of what has happened. (this was a crap match – (why couldn’t Dom get the win today and end this storyline?)
Asuka now facing Sasha for the RAW women’s title. It’s been a seesaw battle, Sasha thought many times that she had it in the bag but Asuka with the fight still left. (come on change this title) Asuka just made Sasha tap out. Bayley moved out of the way, NOT taking the hit that Sasha took for Bayley did earlier. (one week from tonight is Payback with Sasha/Bayley will defend the Women’s Tag Team belts)
Drew McIntyre facing Randy Orton for the RAW Belt. It’s just been 139 days since Drew beat Brock for the belt. Randy trying to play the mind games. Come on Drew focus, you got this. That is a way to apply a knee breaker. Drew with a solid figure four locked in after Drew hit Randy with that knee breaker. Drew is pissed, he has taken enough from Randy, Drew screaming at Randy to get up. Drew got Randy with s simple backslide for a 3 count. Drew took everything that Randy dished out and more, with Drew still holding the belt. (randy tired another RKO but Drew turned it into a backslide pin for the win.
Final match of the night is Braun facing The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) for the Universal title. This match I have no clue on, Braun has gone back to his evil destroy anything mode. It’s a falls count anywhere match, this is all out war. Not happy kids, Bray Wyatt has won the Universal Title but Bray took a massive spear from Roman Reigns. (Roman’s shirt says “Wreck Everyone and Leave” . Roman is coming for the belt.
**Post show thoughts
It was great being in the Thunderdome hearing noise and all. The Mandy Rose/Sonya match was great, it showed a new side of Mandy who could hold her own.
Auska facing Sasha for the RAW belt was also a good match showing off the Women of WWE. I was quite happy to see the belt return to Asuka. I am still hoping that this is the beginning of the end with Bayley/Sasha.
The best men’s match for me was Drew/Randy. After all the storyline damage it was good to see Randy get taken down a few pegs. Drew has gone through hell, reinventing himself into the man he is today.
I don’t know about you but I am tired of the Seth/Murphy storyline.
Screening as I am writing this is the documentary WWE24, it is on how the WWE handled the curves that the virus threw them, when it was time for Wrestlemania.
