Fallout from Houston

Vic and Booker T are back at the announcer’s desk, and Mike Rome is looking after announcing.

**The Tag Team Tournament has been thrown into chaos**

The Bracket is Bleeding: With Lexis King’s status uncertain, does he still interfere to help Stacks and Uriah? If he’s sidelined, The Birthright loses its “insurance policy” just as they’re hitting the semifinals.

The Medical Shadow: WWE usually has to pivot their entire “Day Of” script when live event injuries happen. The PC in Orlando is scrambled right now, trying to figure out who fills the gaps tonight.

The Momentum Shift: Teams like Hank & Tank (who lost last week due to Lexis) might be looking for a restart or a “fair shake” now that the playing field has shifted. Depending on the medical, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Elio LeFleur in Jeopardy: The news for our WWE Speed Champion is more concerning. The “French Luchador” is dealing with a potential arm fracture following a nasty turnbuckle spot. Elio just made history as the youngest Speed Champion back in February, and the thought of him having to vacate the title so soon is heartbreaking for the NXT Universe. The match he had to win the title was amazing. Fingers crossed he will be OK.

**NXT Championship Picture**

The Don of NXT: Tony D’Angelo is on a total tear. Last week, he laid out the NXT Champion Joe Hendry, along with Ethan Page and Ricky Saints.

The Main Event: Tonight’s big matchup is Tony D’Angelo vs. Ricky Saints. While it’s not a #1 Contender match officially, the winner is almost certainly next in line for Hendry’s title. (Stacks is in the building, will be interesting to see if they cross paths.) Ethan Page in Ricky’s corner. It’s a DQ, thanks to Ethan Page. Joe Hendry showed up to take out Ethan and Ricky in a way helping Tony out.

Robert Stone announced at the end of the show that it will be a fatal 4-way for the Men’s NXT Title with Tony/Joe/Ethan/Ricky for the title.

**The Women’s Division**

The Champ: Jacy Jayne is still standing tall after retaining her title in that wild Triple Threat against Sol Ruca and Zaria. Once again, Jacy had help from Fallon and Lainey to keep the title. Fallon had a title defence later in the show, but she got involved in Jacy’s match anyway.

New Gold: Wren Sinclair is the new Women’s Speed Champion after dethroning Fallon Henley! This was Fallon’s first title defence since she won the title last November. This was a huge upset and definitely worth highlighting. Fallon came into the match not at 100% due to getting involved in Jacy’s match earlier. Wren managed to get Fallon to tap out with her move, “The Final Wrench”, which put excessive pressure on the shoulder she injured helping Jacy earlier.

**Tag Team Turmoil**

The Vanity Project: Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes are the current Tag Team Champions, but they’ve got targets on their backs after losing to Los Americanos in a non-title match last week.

Tournament News: Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Uriah Connors advanced in the tag tournament after some interference from Lexis King. This is a great tie-in to the injury news—Lexis was helping his “family” right before he got hurt in Lakeland. Wonder if Stacks and Tony D will cross paths?

**Shiloh Hill joins the Gauntlet Eliminator**

The Gauntlet Eliminator tonight is to determine the #1 contender for Myles Borne’s North American Championship at Stand & Deliver. Adding Shiloh to the mix changes everything: Shiloh joins Jackson Drake(Evolve Champion). (Every 3 minutes, someone joins the match.) Shiloh put his hand up to go in the #1 spot. Jackson Drake is on his way to face Shiloh in the ring. Dion Lennox is #3 in the ring. Charlie Dempsey is in at #4. Johnny Gargano is in at #5. Shiloh pinned Dion Lennox for the elimination. (Dark State at ringside) Shiloh just pinned Jackson. It’s down to Charlie/Shiloh/Johnny. Charlie is gone thanks to Shiloh. Thanks to BirthRight, Johnny Gargano will face Myles Borne. Shiloh got screwed.

“Shiloh Hill didn’t just survive the Gauntlet; he owned it. But in the end, it took three men and a legend’s desperation to keep him from his destiny.”

**Women’s Tag Team**

Wren Sinclair/Kendal Grey facing Fallon Henley/Lainey Reed. It’s been all Fatal Influence. It was a little messy, but it was fun to watch. Wren got Fallon in submission, along with Kendal, who tied up Lainey, but Lainey was the legal person, and she tapped out, giving Wren/Kendall the win. Did you happen to see Fallon grab her shoulder that she injured last week?

Sol Ruca is in the ring, chatting about what happened with Zaria. This is a good setup for Zaria to turn heel. This will make Stand and Deliver more interesting.

Kelani Jordan is in the ring to face off against Thea Hail. I really wanted Thea to win this one. Thea is starting to find her grunt. Kelani wins, but so goes after Thea post-match, trying to injure her, but Jaida Parker shows up and does a number on Kelani.

*Men’s Tag Team Challenge*

The Culling in the ring to face Los Americanos (Rio/Bravo). In first round action. The tournament will decide the #1 contender for the Tag Team Belts, who are currently held by Vanity Project. With a little bit of help from plates in the mask, Los Americanos win.
