RAW Show Notes

Tonight’s show is from Portland, Oregon

Congratulations to Lyra Valkyria on her engagement this past weekend.

Wade Barrett along with Joe Tessitore calling the action, and Sam Irvin doing the announcing.

It’s an interesting card tonight, I hope a few surprises.

CM Punk is in the ring, talking about his match at Bad Blood with Drew McIntyre which is Hell in a Cell. (those matches are so hard to watch. I know they are as safe as possible but those taking part can really get seriously injured during that match)

Sheamus facing Pete Dunn. This is going to get ugly, to say the least.

Damien Priest going to war with Dirty Dom. You know that all of Judgement Day will be close by. Rhea is there also, a light limb in her walk. Jey Uso just told Damien he got his back tonight. Damien was able to defeat Dom, Jey came out to help Damien and Rhea but Braun took Jey out with a spear that Jey never saw coming.

Jey Uso is in the ring cutting a promo for their title match for the Intercontentional title next week. We got some serious trash-talking going on. Jey just wiped the ring with Braun. Braun tried to spear Jey but it was Jey turning the tables, finally.

The New Day facing Judgement Day for the World Tag Team titles. Right now, I can’t see these titles changing hands but at some point, they need to change. The first defence in 71 days, that is way too long. As Hubby Phil said, here comes the interference again as usual. Needless to say no changing of title.

Sami Zayn just took out Ludwig Keiser. I was so hoping that Ludwig would turn on Gunther but that was a stupid thought on my part. Gunther is still refusing to give Sami a title shot. Kaiser can be vicious at the best of times, and this match with Sami will be no different. Anything is possible in this match, Sami is always more dangerous as the underdog. (Question for you — How would Sami do as a heel?)

Smackdown Notes.

This is the new show of the season on the USA Network. Love the new opening.

Something is up, the match with Solo/Cody is opening the show. I would have thought this match would close the show. I have to watch til the end.

Triple H is out to open the show. Michael Cole and Cory Graves are calling the show tonight from Seattle, Washington. Alisha Taylor is your announcer for tonight’s show

**MATCH 1 — Cody/Solo for the Undisputed WWE Title (smackdown). The last Steel Cage match I think for Cody was against Seth Rollins when he had the torn peck. The only way to win is a pinfall, submission or escape the cage. Cody won the match but Bloodline decided they needed to make Cody pay for winning, they were surprised when Roman showed up. Cody got his second wind, helping Roman out. Roman, just looked at Cody, not sure what to think about what happened.

**MATCH 2 — Piper Niven in singles match with Michin.

**MATCH 3 — A-Town Down Under in a tag match with Kevin Owens and a partner of his choosing. It was a local guy but then Randy Orton showed up. (What is it with no movement in the Men’s tag titles on both shows, they seem to have gone to sleep. Time to get them defended once every 30 days like they are supposed to).

Solo Sokia proposed a match at Bad Blood, and Solo/Jacob to face Cody/Roman in a tag match. Solo and Jacob signed without reading the contract. Cody has told Nick Aldis that he is done with Bloodline, this time it’s up to Roman.

Roman is in the ring to address, things happening right now. At this point, Roman has no tag partner but we all know that things can change in a heartbeat. Roman tossed the contract aside and told Nick he was not needed either. (Not in a bad way but it is a family matter) Solo and the Brat Patrol showed up trying to take out Cody/Roman once again. Roman/Cody joined forces for survival taking out Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Solo kept trash-talking but Roman signed the contract, Cody said he was done but asked Roman for the contract, signing it for the match at Bad Blood.

NXT Notes

Getting ready to head to Halloween Havoc

I just don’t know what to expect today. In my book last week’s show was flat but let’s get started and see what happens.

Nathan Frazier/Axion will defend the NXT tag titles against The Street Profits. The Rascals were supposed to compete but they have been they have been removed from the match. This would have been a good match. Street Profits were on the verge of winning then Bloodline showed up. No clue what they are doing there.

Guila is heading to the ring for a match with Chelsea Green. (Rumor is that Guila is being fast-tracked for the NXT Women’s title) They are holding off until the draft, with Roxy being drafted to the main roster. Guila is coming from New Japan Wrestling. it started looking like it was going to be too easy but Chelsea made her earn it. In 3 weeks it will be Roxanne’s biggest title defence going against Guila.

Jordynne Grace is defending her TNA Knockout title, to NXT for an open challenge. Sol Ruca answered the call. It was a great match until Wendy Choo/Rosemary stuck their noses in the match.

Heritage Cup challenge with Je’Von Evans facing Cup holder Charlie Dempsey.

Oba Femi is in a match, from TNA, it’s Hammerstone.

Ridge Holland in a hard-hitting match with Duke Hudson. Andre Chase is off due to injury, and Duke is stepping in. Ridge didn’t stop once he won the game, doing more harm to Duke.

It was a last-man-standing match between Trick Williams, and Pete Dunn for the right to face Ethan Page at the premiere of NXT on the CW October 1. Ethan Page tried to interfere to get Pete to rally to screw Trick, but it was Trick who got to his feet first.

Fallout from Bash in Berlin

It will be interesting to see what happens today, with the fallout.

Alisha is announcing tonight

Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore are your new Monday night RAW announcers with Micheal Cole joining Cory Graves on Friday nights.

Phea Ripley is opening the show tonight. With Rhea being pinned by Liv, is it time for a title shot for the belt that Rhea never lost? Liv and Dom tried a set-up, but Rhea got tangled in the ropes. Damien got her settled down, heading to see Adam to get a match. Finn will only face Damien in a tag match, Damien in talking to Rhea, said he has no friends but Rhea to him to leave it to her. I have a feeling a “Yeet” is coming.

Bronson Reed is not medically cleared to compete tonight, so Adam Pearce has to decide who will take his place. Braun Strowman told Adam he was good to go. Medical told Braun it was up to him.

Ilja, Dirty Don and Dragon Lee in a triple threat to compete for the right to face Braun Brekker for the Intercontentional Title. Carlos tried to help but Damien was out to help, making sure that Dom didn’t win Thanks to a little help from Damien, Ilja got the win over Dragon Lee

Gunther is in the ring. Sami Zayn is in the ring with Gunther having a chat. Sami reminds Gunther that the only person who can beat Gunther in the middle of the ring is Sami.

Triple-threat match between Ludwig Kaiser, Sheamus and Braun.

**Moving over to Smackdown. It’s nice to hear Michael Cole even if he is with Cory Graves** (Shows moving over to USA Network in the USA)

Cody has called out the Bloodline. (The rumour is that Jacob will turn on Solo, moving to Roman’s camp) What! , Codfy told Solo that he is not talking to him, he is talking to Jacob. (could this be part of the storyline?) Where did Nick come from? DIY and Street Profits came to Cody’s defence. The Main Event tonight is an 8-man tag-team match with Cody/Street Profits/DIY facing Bloodline. This just got even better, Nick just made the Main Event for next week, and being tired of the numbers game, Nick made the match between Cody facing Solo for the Undisputed Title a Steel Cage Match. (You should have seen the look on Solo’s face)

Tiffany Stratton facing Bayley for the first time. This could be a good feud.

After everything that Gunther/Ludwig Kaiser has done to him, Giovanni Vinci has returned to Smackdown. A bit of a repackage to fit his character better. VInci was to face Apollo Crews who turned around and beat him before he even had his sweatsuit off.

L.A. Knight is in the ring, talking to the audience, but now Carmelo Hayes is out being the brat, and he is demanding a title shot. Andrade has not joined the chat. (Andrade’s English has gotten a lot better)

**MAIN EVENT — Needless to say, Bloodline was doing what they pleased. Ended as suspected, with a Bloodline win.

Fallout from No Mercy

It was a good show, I was not bored (I’m in Australia, so I got the show on Monday), The show was better than I expected. Still wish Roxy had lost but I have a feeling that is coming. The tag team title match was great, what a way to start the show.

Number 1 contenders match for the right to face Axiom/Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Belts. The Rascals/Gallus Brothers/Hank&Tank. The Rascals got the win, it was a good match but Anderson/Gallows got involved. This should prove to be a great match, both teams are high-flying, and taking risks.

Alexis King is taking on Oro Mensah from Meta Four (but he has Lash/Jakara with him)

Jordynne Grace from TNA will defend her Knockout title on NXT in an open challenge.

Pete Dunn facing Trick Williams was supposed to be the Main Event but Ava had enough and sent them to the ring. The outcome was a double count-out, they didn’t care about the match and wanted to hurt each other. Just been announced that they will have a Last Man Standing Match.

Roxanne Perez is in the ring listening to herself talk about how good she is. Chelsea Green, showed up trying to tell Roxy she was the number 1 contender but Giulia has shown up. Rumour is she is being fast-tracked to the NXT title to get Roxanne moved up to the main roster.

Stax took on Oba Femi — Do I really need to tell you how that went.

Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henry and Jazmyn Nyx have formed a faction to try and control the Women’s locker room. They took out their frustration on Jadia Parker after she beat Jaxmyn.

It was not an over-packed show, just enough to start setting storylines heading to Halloween Havoc

NXT – No Mercy

Today it is NXT time to shine at No Mercy. All 5 titles are on the line tonight.

Coming from Denver, Colorado.

The card is interesting, should be a good show. I can usually call how I think things will play out but this time it’s I am not sure how things will play out.

**MATCH 1 — NXT Tag Titles are on the line as Nathan Frazer/Axiom going in as underdogs facing Chase University. What a great match to open with, it is everything that I expected from these two teams. They are giving it everything they have got. You can’t blink while watching this match or you will miss things. That was an amazing match to open with. Chase has nothing to be ashamed of. Rich Holland has snapped. Rich tried to put Andre through the announcer’s table. Nathan/Axion are 2-time tag champions.

**MATCH 2 — Wes Lee facing Zachary Wentz. They were former Tag Team partners. This is another match you have to pay attention to, Wes and Zach know each other so well, that someone is going to have to make a mistake for the other to gain an advantage. Here goes the announcer’s table again. They didn’t reinforce the announcer’s table very well. Wes is stopping at nothing to make sure that Zach is gone for good. I have a feeling that this war is not over by any means.

**MATCH 3 — NXT Women’s Title on the line as Kelani Jordon goes to war against Wendy Choo. This match is slow-paced but I can see that Kelani is going to have to earn this one. I can’t see them taking the belt off Jordon but stranger things have happened. It was the first real challenge that Kelani had since holding the title. Wendy gave her everything and more but in the end, it was Kelani who was standing tall still North American Champion.

**MATCH 4 — The Men’s North American Title is on the line as Tony D’Angelo faces Oba Femi. I dont hold much hope for Tony but stranger things have happened. Oba Femi has only had 21 matches total in NXT. Until they get a guy as big as Oma, I don’t think that anyone will beat him. Everyone is giving it a go but you almost need someone who can match Oba’s strength and size. This match is not playing out as I thought it might. Tony is holding his own. Oba is still the North American Champion. It was a hell of a match. Tony is one of the few who has really pushed Oba past his limits.

**MATCH 5 — NXT Women’s title on the line as Roxanne Perez faces Jaida Parker. If anyone can beat Roxy, Jaida has the best chance in my book. It’s time for little Miss Perez to be taken down a few notches. Even with this show, they are allowing the stories to be told. It has been a back-and-forth battle, each having a little bit of a shine before the other runs through the door. I just dont get why the belt is still on Roxy, they need to call her up to the Main Roster. The lights went out just as Roxy was trying to celebrate but the newest member of the NXT Women’s division had arrived: Guilia. Roxy had better start to worry.

**MATCH 6 — NXT Men’s Title match with Joe Hendry challenging Ethan Page. (I really can’t stand Ethan Page, no clue why they put the belt on him so soon as he arrived, IMO Ethan Page is a real turnoff, the belt needs to be on anyone but him) Joe Hendry is growing on me. Would be interesting to see if he moves into NXT from TNA. The winner of this match will defend when NXT premiers on the CW according to Ava. Another ref getting involved, using the NXT belt and a low blow, Ethan Page still hangs on to the Men’s title but I am hoping not for long.

Bash in Berlin

Happy Father’s Day from Australia

Bash in Berlin was live overnight but I have seen some clips of the show. I was not surprised by the outcomes of the matches but I want to see the quality of the show. Taking place at the Uber Arena.

In October we head to Atlanta for Bad Blood. Will be interesting to see how things have taken any twists and turns.

Byron had a chat with Triple H during the pre-show. Some of the things H said, caught my attention — A) Bash in Berlin will be the highest-grossing area event in WWE history. B) The record started at Clash at the Castle in Scotland, moving on to Leon, France. C) 7th International PLE for the year.

Sam Irvin is your announcer for the show.

**MATCH 1 — Kevin Owens facing Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship Title. (The crowd is insane singing Cody’s theme) (it’s going to be hard to hear Micheal and Wade at times) I can see that the friendship has been put aside. They are going to leave it all in the ring once done, I can see it. I know just getting started but this is going to be hard to beat for match of the night. Cody’s knee buckled, Kevin at first wouldn’t go for the knee but Kevin finally did. Kevin keeps hesitating to make the cover for the win. No matter what these two throw at each other, they find ways to keep kicking out. Cody with the win but it was a hell of a match. Kevin has nothing to be ashamed of. He brought it to Cody. (Kevin couldn’t pull the trigger for the apron powerbomb that most likely would have won it for Kevin)(Solo has declared that the is coming for Cody, most likely at Bad Blood in Atlanta) (Just a thought here, Roman might return to make sure that Solo loses)

**MATCH 2 — The Women’s Tag Team titles are on the line as the Unholy Union of Alba Fire/Isla Dawn defends against Jade Cargill/Bianca Belair. If any title is going to change hands I have a feeling it will be this set. Jade needs to watch her tempter/frustration, it can hurt if not careful. Fire/Dawn has done well to cut off the ring, keeping Belair from getting to Cargill. (IMO — Bianca needs to do a repackage, losing the ponytail) Bianca took a real beating but finally got to Jade. The ladies have brought their A-game. We have new Women’s Tag Team Champions — Congratulations to Jade/Bianca

**MATCH 3 — Strap Match between CM Punk facing Drew McIntyre (RULES: Each competitor will be tied to the end of a strap, No pinfalls or submissions, and the only way to win to by touching all four corners of the ring uninterrupted in succession) I can’t see the feud between Drew/CM won’t end today but I am reading rumours that a steel cage match at Bad Blood could be in the works. Strap matches are those matches that anything goes. This was one of those matches. Punk’s first win in 10 1/2 years. (CM looks stuffed but this kind of match can do that to you)

Attendance tonight is

**MATCH 4 — Terror Twins – (Damien Priest/Rhea Ripley) facing Dom/Liv in a mixed tag team. (you know the rest of Judgement Day will show up) Rhea just blew the place up, the decibel meter topped out at 112. It’s been a great match, it’s also been so loud at times you can even hear Cole/Wade. Needless to say, Judgement Day showed up. This was a great match, Rhea/Dom still needs some help in the numbers department. It was all about the payback after getting taken down right before the bash. I am hoping for a title match between Liv/Rhea at Bad Blood

**MATCH 5 — MAIN EVENT — Randy out first, the Universe singing along, cracking the decibel out at 112. Randy Orton facing Gunther for the WWE Heavyweight Title. I can’t see it changing hands today but I expect one hell of a match. The Universe is so loud, that they are in the corner of the adopted hometown hero, Gunther. Both Gunther/Randy are still finding the feel of the land. Started out a slow match, trying to find little mistakes so the other could stake an advantage. Randy really worked over Gunther’s right arm, trying to slow Gunther down. Randy has really taken it to Gunther, reminding him that others in the locker room will not be walked over. They have destroyed the ringside, taking out both tables, Charles Robinson has given a lot of leeway in this match, knowing what the line is. Gunther had to use a sleeper to take Randy out. Gunther stayed in the ring, waiting for Randy, offering a hand of respect.

Thanks for joining me. I will be covering No Mercy for NXT tomorrow, seeing you for RAW on Monday

Getting ready for Bash in Berlin.

We send our condolences to the family of Syco Sid at the news of his passing.

RAW and Smackdown are gonna be lit with Bash in Berlin just around the corner. I reckon the lineup is pretty much set, but there’s always a chance for more matches to be added during the shows this week.

Hey folks, RAW is on and guess who’s kicking things off? The revamped Judgement Day, of course. I’ve got it on mute, though, because I don’t want to hear the garbage they’re spewing. Dom and Liv think they’ve got this in the bag, but the Terror Twins are gonna have a lot to say about that. (Gotta love how Dom tries to talk and still gets booed.) Okay, this is a surprise—Rey Mysterio and the LWO are out there, and they’ve got Dragon Lee with them. (I saw someone wondering if Dom would ever hold a major title. Maybe, but who knows?)

Strap Match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk – ouch, that sounds painful! In this match, they can use the strap as a weapon, but they also have to drag their opponent along as they hit all four corners of the ring to win. Talk about a workout!

**Smackdown — This show is coming from Berlin. L.A. Knight was in the ring offering an open challenge for the United States Title. Knight is frustrating the crap out of Kaiser which is great. It was a good match, I would love to see another match between them.

As much as I got tired of the Bloodline storyline, I actually have to admit that I am waiting for Roman to return. Creative is working on setting up for War Games. I really want to see Paul Heyman return. There was a rumour that Jacob would turn on Solo, actually working for Roman. (it would be delicious if it did)

The match between Cody and Kevin at Bash will be interesting. (Nick Aldis is moderating a face-to-face in the ring) First, I can’t see the title changing hands but I am wondering if there might be a Kevin heel turn. It’s been 7 years since Kevin has held a singles title. Kevin has kept saying that he doesn’t deserve this title shot but Cody, has a different view on things.

The matches between Andrade facing Carmelo Hayes have actually been good. Carmelo being the heel that he is will do anything to win, at all costs. I can see this feud going for a bit.

Not a fan of Nia Jax in any sense of the word. To me, she is nothing more than a bully. How long before someone gets seriously hurt.

Smackdown was slow but the storytelling was OK. Those holding belts were protected for the PLE tomorrow. I can’t see any belts changing hands but there are surprises along the way.

Getting Ready for No Mercy

Some of the recent storylines on NXT have really been disappointing. (Remember this is my opinion)

**Women’s NXT Title — current holder is Roxanne Perez. I am just tired of her little I’m better than you, let’s throw a temper tantrum when I don’t get my own way. Give her a real battle, make her fight for what she wants. Jaida Parker will push Roxy in ways she has never been pushed. I am hoping that Roxy has no clue what she is up against.

**Men’s NXT Title — I have no clue why they took the title off Trick William, putting it on Ethan Page. I really can’t stand the Ethan Page character. What an ego, He is everything I hate in a human, I know this is a character but still. I can’t wait for a title change. Put the belt back on Trick or draft him to the main roster.

**Ladies North American Title — Kelani Jordan is facing Windy Choo at No Mercy. (Wendy has been repackaged, to be honest, it’s creepy but it’s working. When a character can cause feelings you know they are performing well) It’s good to see Kelani have a storyline, they have built it quick and simply. I can’t see the belt changing at the PLE but stranger things have happened.

**Men’s North American Title — Who in the world can even beat Oba Femi? I would love to see a match between Oba facing Bronson Reed

**NXT Tag Team Titles — Currently held by Chase U. There have been some really good matches with Axiom/Nathan Frazer. Axion and Nathan are both really good singles wrestlers but I think they are better together.

Match Card for No Mercy

**Men’s NXT Title match — Ethan Page facing Joe Hendry with Trick Williams as the special guest Ref

**Women’s North American title — Kelani Jordan versus Windy Choo

**Men’s North American Title — Obi Femi versus Tony D’Angelo

**NXT Men’s Title Match — or should I say rematch between Chase U and Nathan Frazier/Axion

Wes Lee going to war with Zachary Wentz

WWE Notes from RAW and Smackdown

Things are getting busy, and Bash in Berlin will be here before we know it. Bad Blood takes place in Atlanta, Georgia on October 5th.

**Gunther putting the Heavyweight title (RAW) on the line against Randy Orton. It will be a battle and a half but right now I am not sure they will move the belt off Gunther. I would love to see Randy with the belt one more time, (Randy just signed a 5 year extension)

**Cody Rhodes chose who he wanted to face at Bash, it was Kevin Owens. Kevin tried everything to get out of it. He felt that he had not earned the opportunity to fight for the belt. Cody would not give up until Kevin finally agreed.

**NXT take the stage after Bash for No Mercy on September 1 which is taking place in Denver, Colorado. Roxanne Perez is still the Women’s Champion which I just don’t get. She has turned into the little selfish heel but at least for me, it’s getting old. Her next opponent is Jaide Parker who could be a real threat, I like Roxy but not as the heel, so, Go Jaide.

**Ethan Page who currently holds the NXT Men’s Title will be facing off against Joe Hendry. I can’t stand Ethan, what a narcissist. Joe Hendry is from TNA Wrestling but making appearances. This should be interesting, to say the least.

**Now known as the Terror Twins (Rhea Ripley/Damien Priest) will be a force to be reconned with. This past Monday night on RAW the so-called Judgement Day did their best to try and take them out be more Liv/Dom face Rhea/Damien at Bash. I can see this turning into an all-out war. Question for you, who will step up to join the Twins against Judgement Day.

**Strap Match — OK, that makes my body hurt just hearing those words but it is what Drew McIntyre facing CM Punk will be dealing with. Their meetings have been combustible, to say the least. I can’t see this fued ending anytime soon. In my book, it’s time Punk gets a win.

**The Intercontentional Championship will be defended in a triple-threat match between Braun Brekker versus Sheamus versus Lugwig Kaiser. I have a feeling Braun will keep the belt but it will be a good match as long as they let it develop.

**While watching Smackdown — Nick Aldis announced that at Bash in Berlin, The Current Women’s Tag Team Titles that are held by Alba Fire/Isla Dawn will be defended against Bianca Beliar/Jade Cargill.
