Going Home Shows for WWE

If you are unsure what a going-home show is, it’s the final show before a PLE. It’s setting the final card, giving the fans a final taste of the storylines they are most invested in.

**NIGHT ONE

Cody Rhodes/Seth Rollins in a tag match against Rock/Roman in a tag match. If Cody wins, there’s no Bloodline at ringside for the Night 2 match but if Roman wins, it’s Bloodline rules. *(storyline related that Roman ordered the so-called hit on Cody) Seth’s music hit, he is up in the Universe. (safe place).

**RAW

Main Event, Seth facing Solo in the main event with Bloodline Rules

New Day is joining forces with DIY to face Judgement Day.

It’s been interesting, to say the least, the matches have been ok but nothing earth-shattering. Ricochet faced Ivar with Ricochet getting the win, how I don’t know. Dom/J.D. trying to get rid of Ricochet because according to them he has been a thorn in their side.

Clash at the Castle is returning with more information soon.

It’s been a quiet show but building for the matches.

**NXT

Will be interesting to see how this show compares to RAW, Mr. High and Mighty Carmelo with his security will be no match for Trick. The match I have read will be the Main Event.

Anderson/Gallows facing L.W.O. facing Axiom/Nathan Frazer for the right to meet Braun Brekker/Barron Corbin for the NXT Tag Belts at Stand and Deliver. Axiom/Nathan Frazer are heading to Stand and Deliver. This match will be interesting with Braun Brekker signed with Smackdown, will they take the belts off of them. If they do move the belts, what happens to Barron? Will he stay in NXT or will they move him back to the main roster?

After the crazy ending to the match between Fallon Henly/Jacy Jayne just added to Stand and Deliver by General Manager Ava, there will be a 6-Woman tag match with Fallon/Thea/Kelani facing Jacy/Kiana/Izzi

**NEWS from WWE — Clash at the Castle on June 15th in Scotland, Smackdown will be the night before.

Ilja Dragunov — been reading some interesting things about Ilja, and possible plans. It sounds like the belt will stand on him for now but if they decide to take it off him, he could be headed for a fued with Gunther. Everyone understands that Ilja does travel home to visit family regularly and WWE is willing to work with him. He is tapped as a possible anchor for NXT Europe but nothing more has been heard if and when that might be coming to light.

Trick/Carmelo in the ring in the final faceoff. A lot of trash-talking as usual. Carmelo saying how much better he is than Trick. (2 black men, in the main event of an NXT PLE) Needless to say, it all broke down which I knew it would.

**Smackdown

Not a whole lot going on today. The start of Wrestlemania Weekend starts with the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. the only other matches today on the show are Jey facing Solo, Randy Orton heads to the K.O. show and The New Catch Republic takes on Waller/Theory in a tag match.

*Jey facing Solo will not be pretty, it won’t end with a winner in my book. It’s just another way to try and take Jey out before his match against Jimmy.

Randy having a chat with K.O. I have one question — Where is Logan Paul? Logan Paul just walked out in the middle of the chat. Who cares what you are doing Paul. Logan was over at the stadium where Wrestlemania will take place. With Waller/Theory running behind. ( they are heel buddies with Paul) In the end, Logan Paul got an RKO from Randy.

The New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate/Pete Dunn) facing Theory/Waller should be good. My money is on the New Catch.

The Andre the Giant Battle Royal taking place, I hope the ring has been reinforced with the amount of weight in there. Pretty Deadly tried to take out Omas but it was Elton Prince, deciding to eliminate himself. My boy from Adelaide Bronson Reed is the last man standing.

I had been reading that they are starting to implode Judgement Day. Well, that was interesting. Dom interfered to help Elektra Lopez to the win. As Santo along with Dom were in the ring trying to take out Rey before the match this weekend. Andrade took out Dom, (didn’t see that coming did ya) and cleared the ring, showing that his alliance is actually with Rey and the L.W.O Dragon Lee is out, Andrade is in but I am reading a possible heel turn for Carlos. Waiting to see on that one.

See you this weekend for Wrestlemania

Match Order for Wrestlemania

Will give you my thoughts on the matches.

This is a rumour but it will be interesting to see how it holds up

**Night 1

Rhea Ripley facing Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Title to open. This is a great match to open the show. It’s going to be hard fought, read a possible side story that Dom could interfere, costing Rhea the title. (My choice — Becky wins, having one more title run before she retires)

6-pack Tag Team Ladder Match. (this is how they are splitting the belts)(Raw tag belts will hang separately from Smackdown Betls) The match will end once both belts have been claimed. This match could go any number of ways. It’s another match that anything goes. (My choice — The Miz/R-Truth win the Raw belts, Pete Dunn/Tyler Bait win the Smackdown Belts)

Rey Mysterio/Dragon Lee taking on Dominick Mysterio/Santos Escobar. Another Father versus Son battle. In this match, you need to sit down and give your full attention because if you blink you will miss something. (My choice — Heart says Rey/Dragon but Head says Dom/Santos will steal the win)

It’s Brother facing Brother as Jimmy Uso faces off against Jey Uso. (question will this bring them back together once it’s over? Will they help with the Bloodline storyline?) This will be interesting because the boys know each other so well. Jey has more single experience than Jimmy, could this pay off? I am wondering if Solo will interfere to help Jimmy win? (My choice — Jey with the win)

Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi facing Damage Control. Been waiting to see Jade in action, this is a good trio. All are strong. Damage Control will try everything to steal the win but I am hoping to see the possibility of a tag team coming out of this combination. I would love to see Jade/Bianca for a tag team and go after the Women’s Tag titles. (My choice — Jade, Naomi, Bianca for the win)

Sami Zayn facing Gunther for the Intercontentional Title. Gunther is so strong, but a couple of wrestlers have pushed Gunther to his limits. Hoping that Imperium stay out of this. Sami is at his best as an underdog. Will Chad be in Sami’s corner? (I have been reading that Chad could do a heel turn. If Chad does will this cost Sami the title) A thought process with Gunther is that they will take the title off him to get him ready for a run for the Heavyweight Title. (My choice — Sami but if Gunter keeps the belt I won’t be overly surprised)

To close night one is the tag match Rock/Roman facing Seth/Cody. This is going to get ugly which is an understatement. If Roman/Rock win it’s Bloodline rules for the match between Cody/Roman. If Seth/Cody wins, Bloodline is banned from the match on night 2. I honestly don’t know what to think, I really want Cody/Seth to win but I have been reading that Rock will turn on Roman making sure that Cody finishes his story. That is why I am thinking that possibly Rock/Roman will win on night 1 with someone betraying Roman on night 2 and helping Cody win. (reading other things that Stone Cold/ John Cena could also play a part in things. (My choice — I want Seth/Cody to win but I have a feeling for setup for night 2 Rock/Roman will win)

Night 2

Seth Rollins puts the world heavyweight title on the line against Drew McIntyre. I can’t stand Drew as a heel. No one is sure if he has signed a new contract. Drew did have time added to his contract due to injury. The only way I can figure out if they put the belt on Drew is to get Seth off so he can get healthy. (Seth’s back and knee) Clash in the Castle has been announced for June 15th. Do they want the belt on Drew for the Clash, which it’s in his home country of Scotland? (My choice — Seth but I have a feeling it will be Drew)

It is a 6-man tag team with The Pride squaring off against The Final Testament. I don’t have much of an interest in this match. It can go either way. The final Testament have the weight along with strength boxes ticked. (My choice is Final Testament)

The war comes to a head as L.A. Knight faces A.J. Styles. A.J. is just as vicious as a heel. He is playing it well as I can’t stand him right now. L. A. needs to get a really good push heading towards a belt. The question is can L.A. match Styles in being vicious? (My choice — L.A. Knight)

The United States title is on the line in a triple-threat match with Randy Orton/Kevin Owens/Logan Paul. This title really needs to come off Paul. The title is barely being defended as it should but with Paul as the heel along with his love of the brass knuckles, someone needs to end him. Yes, Logan is good but he as well as people like Rhonda Rousey never came up through the ranks. They have never done the hard yards, they more or less had it handed to them. (remember this is MY opinion) Kevin/Randy I think will work together up to a point but then someone will turn on the other. With Randy’s back, I can’t see him being able to work as long as he would like. Give Randy one more title run before he retires. Would Kevin turn heel on Randy to win? (My choice — Randy Orton or Kevin Owens. As long as it’s not Logan Paul I will be happy)

Bayley facing Iyo Sky for the Smackdown Women’s Title — This could be an all-out war. Wondering how much leeway the Ref will have in this match. I am hoping that Damage Control is not a factor in this. Iyo/Bayley really need to fight this out themselves. This should complete Bayley’s turn to Babyface for a possible one last run. (My choice — Bayley for the win)

Closing the show will be Roman against Cody for the Universal Title — depending on the outcome of the tag match, this could get really nasty. I would love for it to finally be a fair fight, but I can’t see that happening. There will be interference, It has gotten really boring with Roman keeping the belt, which is supposed to be defended at least every 30 days which this belt is not. Roman works when Roman feels like it. Well, it’s time for the storyline to end, for Roman to be on his way into the sunset. There is no use trying to leave the title on Roman to beat the record that Hulk Hogan holds because it is just a different time. (My choice — Cody finally finishes his story)

WWE Notes week ending March 30

This will be an interesting week as we are heading to the business end of things getting ready for Wrestlemania and NXT: Stand and Deliver. I still have no clue what to expect on any show this week.

12 days until Wrestlemania

CM Punk comes for a visit. Punk basically called out Drew to try and settle whatever this is. (It’s an OK storyline but will be better once Punk has been medically cleared. Drew says that Punk is his inspiration to get things done. Drew has gotten a God complex, (in my book, it is a bully) Seth on his way to the ring. CM will be on commentary during the Seth/Drew match at Wrestlemania. Seth caught Drew off guard, laying him out.

Cody cutting another great promo, Rock has to walk out.

Ricochet facing J.D. from Judgement Day. Hoping to get Ricochet on a winning streak again, his talent is being wasted in my book. Dom interferes but still Ricochet wins. That was a great match. Still would love to see Ricochet/J.D. in a match with no one getting in the way.

Match between DIY/New Day for the right to go to Wrestlemania 6-pack challenge for the Tag Titles. Interference from Judgement Day stopped the match.

Sami Zayn lost his match to Bronson Reed, with Gunther watching on. Meeting up with Chad Gable, he told Sami again that he needed to change his mindset. (Alpha Academy is on NXT right now but I am also wondering if they have split Chad to focus on a singles run)

*NXT

Roxanne is bragging about her heel turn and how she will destroy Lyra. Taking back the title that has been hers all along.

Thea Hail has found her spunk again. I really like her. She might be small, but she has the tools. I am hoping that she can get a match at Stand and Deliver.

Ridge Holland is taking a break from NXT to focus on his Mental health.

Oba Femi at Stand and Deliver will have a triple-threat match for the North American Title. Obi will face Josh Briggs/Dijak

Trick Williams will face Carmelo Hayes at Stand and Deliver. It’s going to be a hell of a match. (this could be the match of the night, only second to the Men’s NXT title match)

I was sure that Alpha Academy would not win against Braun/Corbin. It was a good go, but it was all over when they slammed Otis through the announcer’s table.

***Both shows are still sorting out their final cards for their respective shows. There are still matches being locked in. The rumour mill is starting to quiet down

**Smackdown

As of today, it is 8 nights until Wrestlemania. 7 days here in Australia

Randy Orton joining Kevin Owens in a tag match against Pretty Deadly. (Randy/Kevin face Logan Paul for the United States title. That title needs to change hands so it can be defended regularly as it should be)

Nick Aldis is in the ring, with the contract for Jade Cargill to sign officially. I would love one of two things to happen, Jade against Bianca in a match or to team Jade with Bianca in a tag team run.

Street Profits facing Theory/Waller for the right to head to Wrestlemania in the 6-pack challenge for the Tag Team belts. Thanks to APO Theory/Waller steal the win.

The New Catch Republic facing Legado De Fantasmia for the right to be the final entrant into the 6-pack Challenge at Wrestlemania. New Catch will enter the 6-pack challenge

Bianca Belair facing Dakota Kai for the moment one-on-one but I can see this ending with an all-out war. Naomi told Bianca that she has her back but Jade is around also. told you that Kiara/Asuka would show up. Here comes Jade to even the score.

Only one week to go, and things are getting interesting, to say the least. I will look to see if the cards are set for the two nights. I have heard a few things but I want to do some research before I share anything. See you next week for the going-home shows before Wrestlemania.

Smackdown March 22/23

This week’s shows have been flat, hoping tonight can save the week.

Nick Aldis had surgery to repair a torn bicep but is back at work. Still no word on the extent of the knee injury that Asuka is dealing with

The match between Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar had all others from the LWO and Legado del Fantasma have been banned from ringside. This should be a good match, clean I hope. It was Dom who showed up to cause trouble. Should have figured but he is not supposed to be there anyway. Could be a set-up for a match for Wrestlemania between Father and Son again.

Waller/Theory set to face The O.C. with Michin. A win gets you to a bracket for the right to head to Wrestlemania. 2 spots left. Finally good to see the strength of the O.C. returning. I have missed this about them. Theory/Waller stole this win, but have to face the winner of the Street Profits tag match who face the Authors of Pain. I can’t see this ending well for Montez/Angelo. I have no clue how but Street Profits managed to get the win.

Naomi is in a match with Iyo Sky but, this won’t end well. It will be a lop-sided match. Needless to say, Damage Control is out there. Iyo is too busy beating the crap out of Bayley. Well, Damage Control once again ruined things. Getting tired of the Damage Control storyline, time for gold to change hands.

Jade Cargill is now an official Smackdown Superstar.

Well, Roman is on his way to the ring, the only one with him is Paul Heyman. My question is where is Jimmy/Solo? Has Cody done the ring thing making sure he has backup if needed. I don’t know about you but I don’t trust this. Roman and Cody had a chat, I muted it due to not wanting to hear the bull. In the end, Roman/Paul walked away, Roman was not alone, and Solo/Jimmy showed up, as you can guess Cody was not alone either as Jey/Seth came out of the audience to give Cody back up.

NXT Notes Match 19/20

This should be an interesting show, the fallout from last week’s show with setting up for Stand and Deliver at Wrestlemania weekend.

Roxanne Perez to open the show facing Tatum Paxley. Roxy being a heel should be interesting. Needless to say, Roxy won, grabbed a mic and went on a tear, Lyra showed up, she did her best but Roxy took her out also, trying to walk off the woman’s title. Ava has made the match for Stand and Deliver — Roxy facing Lyra for the NXT Women’s Title

Oba Feme is in the ring with Josh Briggs, Josh basically wants a title match, which I think he could win but Dijak has arrived on the scene to insert himself.

Tag Team qualifying match between Axiom/Nathan Frazer facing Charlie Dempsey/Myles Bourne

Trick Williams will face Carmelo Hayes at Stand and Deliver

Soul Ruca facing Reece

Brooks Jenson had a major scream at Fallon Henley in the parking lot, walking away from NXT.

Anderson/Gallows facing Hank and Tank.

Alpha Academy facing Brekker/Corbin for the right to enter the NXT tag team hunt

Carmelo came out but dressed as one of his security jumping Trick, who at least for today never had a chance.

RAW Notes for March 18/19

for those of you who might not know, I live in Australia, I get RAW on Tuesday Morning here.

Lana/Rusev has ended their 7-year marriage

There is an update on Maryse from 10 March. She has had surgery and is recovering well.

Raquel Rodriguez has been moved to the injury list due to some health issues.

Asuka has been pulled from live shows due to a knee injury. Waiting on test results for the extent of the injury

19 days til Wrestlemania

Jey Uso opening the show. Needless to say, Jimmy/Solo showed up trying to take Jay out. Cody to the rescue

DIY facing The Creed Brothers for the right to enter the 6-pack challenge at Wrestlemania. That was a hell of a match. DIY heading to Wrestlemania. Real Truth earned a win, and now Alpha Academy facing New Day. the New Day has joined the 6-pack challenge

Cody is in the ring, chatting about the Rock and other issues. Paul Heyman showed up, which I knew he would. I don’t trust Heyman as far as I can throw him. Jay told Cody that he would be there if he needed him.

Ricochet is out for a match with Dom Mysterio. JD at ringside, causing issues. According to Judgement Day, Ricochet embarrassed JD during their match last week. JD tried to interfere but it was Ricochet with the win. It was a clean win for Ricochet.

Seth Rollins is out to chat with the crowd but Drew is also in the house.

Nia Jax facing Becky Lynch in a Last Woman standing match. Anything goes in this one. This was a hell of a match, I am truly surprised that they allowed this match so close to Wrestlemania. I expected Liv Morgan to come out but she didn’t. I took a leg drop off the ladder breaking the announcer’s table to help Becky get the win. Rhea came out for face-to-face trash-talking each other but in my opinion, Rhea had better enjoy her time with the belt, because it’s coming to an end.

Smackdown Notes

The last time Rock did a promo it went over by 10 minutes forcing the match with Tiffany/Michin to be cut. Disrespectful in my book

The opening match is a tag team qualifier between Legado De Fantasma (Angel/Berto) and L.W.O.

Logan Paul is demanding an apology from Randy Orton, Yea right. Randy is in the ring facing Greyson Waller but Logan Paul is at ringside. How much do you want to bet that brass knuckles will come into play. (Been reading this but now it’s true) Triple threat match for the United States title, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens facing Logan Paul.

Bayley facing Dakota Kai one-on-one but you know this will not end well. Damage Control will play a part for sure. They want to make sure that Bayley doesn’t get to Wrestlemania to face Iyo Sky. This will be a 4 on one match. Wondering if Bayley will have any help. Here comes Naomi to help Bayley.

The second Qualifying mate for the tag tournament is Pretty Deadly facing Pete Dune/Tyler Bate. (New Catch Republic) Pete/Tyler with the win.

Wish there was more news on this show. Still setting up storylines with less than 30 days will Wrestlemania.

NXT Notes — Fallout from Roadblock

This should be an interesting show, post-fallout from Roadblock. Heading to Stand and Deliver during Wrestlemania weekend. Waiting for word on Lyra/Roxanne.

The other fallout I am waiting on is Carmelo/Trick Williams

LWO in tag action to qualify for the triple threat match for the Tag Titles at Stand and Deliver. OTM never gave LWO a chance to get into the ring. The winner of the triple threat match will meet Corbin/Brekker at Stand and Deliver for the Tag belts. LWO somehow pulls out the win.

Ilja goes to see The Godfather, but it doesn’t end well as the boys put Ilja in the trunk of a car and drive off. The Godfather facing Ilja for the NXT Men’s title at Stand and Deliver

**Summerslam to be held in Cleveland, Ohio

North American title match between Oba Femi and Brooks Jensen. IMO — this is not going to end well for Brooks. No need for a second powerbomb. Pin him and be done.

NXT is starting to set up for Stand and Deliver. There should be some interesting stories but one I am most interested in is between Carmelo Hayes/Trick Williams. This has been brewing for a while. I thought Hayes/Williams would have gotten a call, but this storyline started. The main event will be the NXT Men’s title but this match should be a close second.

Roxy was out trying to explain away her reasoning for attacking Lyra. Ava had come out, with Roxy expecting Ava to announce a good recovery for Lyra and hand her the Women’s title but that didn’t happen thanks to Tatum attacking Roxy.

Trick in the ring, I like him on the mic. He does cut a good promo. This is setting up for a good match for Stand and Deliver. Metfor is out and I really have no clue why.

RAW Notes

26 days away from Wrestlemania weekend

Seth told Drew that he was not worried about Drew at Wrestlemania.

Drew McIntyre out to the ring, complaining how everything is wrong, that Seth is not paying attention to the world title. Drew is glad he injured CM Punk. At the writing of this blog, Drew does not have a new contract but due to injury, they have added time to his current contract. I can’t see them putting the belt on Drew depending on the time he has left but anything is possible, at this point, Damien still has the briefcase.

There will be a 6-pack ladder match for the Tag Team Titles at Wrestlemania as announced by Nick Aldis/Adam Pearce. Over the next weeks, there will be qualifying matches for the right to enter the match. Next Monday on RAW there will be qualifying matches between New Day/Alpha Academy along with DIY facing The Creed Brothers and The Miz/R Truth facing Indus Sher.

Cody Rhodes is out to have a chat with Michael Cole. One-on-one in the ring. Michael says to Cody “What do you want to talk about?” Michael asks Cody about that slap. Is Cody nervous and afraid, sure he is, but even I would worry if he wasn’t. For the first time, Cody broke down talking about Dusty, how he can’t hand him the title but can hand it to the one person left, His Mom. Cody told Michael that for the first time, on night two of Wrestlemania, a member of the Rhodes family is the Undisputed Champion. Michael will get the privilege to say that “Cody has finished the story”

Gaulent match — Ricochet opening to face JD McDonagh. Ricochet, wins the opening match, facing number 2 in Bronson Reed(my pick to win this), Bronson wins, waiting on Sami Zayn, and Sami somehow manages to beat Bronson, (takes a cheap shot on Sami as Shinsuke watches on). Sami manages to beat Shinsuke, and Chad Gable is the final wrestler in the gaulent. It was a hell of a match. It could have gone either way but it was Sami who wanted it more on the day.

Sami Zayn will face Gunther for the Intercontentional Championship ( I hear rumours that the belt will change to get Gunther ready for a top belt, (World or Universal)
