Season Premiere of Smackdown

Happy weekend. It’s going to be interesting to see how things open tonight on the season premiere.

There is a match between Roman/Braun. This was scheduled before the draft, I think its the rematch for the title after Roman’s return. (I just don’t know what to think of Roman’s storyline. the match with Jey at Hell in a cell will be hard to watch)

Can someone please tell me WHY Lars Sullivan is even back? He never did anything he actually injured more people. Jeff had no luck, needless today. He gave it a red hot go but that’s it.

The New Day together for the final time. 6 man tag team, Cesaro, Shinsuke, Sheamus. (Kofi, Xavier, Big E sharing personal feelings), It’s been a messy match-going both ways but people still kicking out. That was one hell of a match but The New Day with one final win.

Otis talking to Kayla but Samy had to stick his nose in where it doesn’t belong.

Daniel Bryan’s return. Of course, Seth has walked out telling Daniel that he needs to join him for the greater good of Smackdown. Seth with the cheap shot but Daniel is standing and fighting back. (SHUT UP CORY). Murphy took out Seth, tried to offer an Olive branch to Rey/Dom, but not yet.

Street Profits facing Dolph Ziggler/Robert Roode for the tag belts. Dolph/Robert got themselves counted out.

Sasha/Bayley signing the contract for Hell in a Cell. Sasha signed but Bayley refused to sign, saying she can do whatever she wants. Sasha called out Bayley, for what she really is. A Coward.

Braun Strowman/Roman Reigns for the Universal title. Jey Uso is watching from the back, Braun is having his way with Roman at this point. Roman with a low blow that the Ref never saw, roman thought he had it won but Braun kicked out. Somehow Roman managed to get Braun to tap out. Jey is standing at the top of the ramp. I have a real dislike for this “Roman” (I have no clue about this storyline and where it will even go. I am not a fan at all but, as long as I am uncomfortable about the storyline its working.)

NXT October 14/15

**Finn Balor has had surgery on his jaw which was broken in two places. He will be out a least a month. Rich Holland is also out with a dislocated ankle along with other injuries. Mr. Regal is going to give Finn some time to recover before deciding what needs done if anything with the NXT Belt.

Damian Priest will defend the North American Title against Dexter Lumis. (Dexter missed the ladder match due to injury, this is a reward for Dexter’s work) It’s an even match. Dexter I think has more strength but I am wondering if Damian is in trouble. That is a new move by Dexter. OMG, that was close, Damian’s long legs sure helped. Cameron Grimes just attacked Dexter/ no one saw anything. Damian just realized what happened, in the ring and now Johnny Gargano out with a chair.

Shotzi Blackheart facing off against Candace LaRue for an opportunity at Halloween Havoc, they are facing off for the right to face Io Shirai at Halloween havoc. Before the commercial, Candance had the control but coming back from a break its Shotzi with the lead in the match. It has turned into a good match as long as Johnny stays out of it. Candace got help not from Johnny but Indi Hartwell. Shotzi is hosting the event.

The fight for #1 contender for the Tag Team between The Undisputed Era Roderick Strong/Bobby Fish facing Danny Birch/Oney Lorcan. The winner will face Breezango next week for the title.

Ashante “Thee” Adonis on the way to the ring. (this is a new kid I know nothing about) facing Jake Atlas. I like Jake, he is good, feisty. Jake Atlas with the win but Escobar sent his men out to get Adonis, Jake helped out Thee but Swerve Scott out with a couple of chairs.

Austin Theory in the ring against Johnny Gargano. It’s been a good match, no one has really had the advantage. Heaps of trash talking going on. Austin made the mistake which Johnny took advantage of and walked away for the win.

Robert Stone/Aliyah will face off against Toni Storm. It didn’t last long with Toni getting the win.

Mr. Regal did see the end of the Candace/Shotzi match and will make a decision about that match soon.

Rhea Ripley facing Raquel Gonzalez at Halloween Havoc.

Imperium (what a chorus of booing) facing Killian Dane/Drake Maverick — OMG this could get really ugly. This has gotten ugly with Imperium getting the win at all cost.

Shotzi out with some news — Johnny and Candace match will be decided by the wheel of deal.

Randy Orton the way to the ring, Randy refusing to give up until he takes the Championship from Drew. Randy bragging about how he will take the title from Drew. The universe is really giving it to Randy. Drew on his way to the ring to kick Randy’s backside again. Randy running like the chicken he is.

Kevin Owens vs Aleister Black in a No DQ match. They are both taking a beating, no clue how this could go. Owens with the win. Not surprised to be honest.

Angel Garza facing Andrade with Zelina at the announcer’s desk. It was quick, Angel with the win. Angel was cleared to compete but he is still carrying the injury. Bliss/Fiend just delivered same time sister abigails.

The Hurt Business Cedric Alexander facing Ricochet. If Ricochet wins, The Business leaves him alone, IF Cedric wins, he joins the Business. OMG, that was brilliant on Ricochet’s part. Ricochet hits the floor, falls like he was hit, and wins the match. Ricochet wins and has to be left alone.

The Miz/Morrison facing Jeff Hardy/Matt Riddle in tag action. Matt’s request to tag in a match incase they are split by the draft. It was a great match, Miz/Morrison had no clue what to expect but they tried everything but it would be Riddle/Hardy with the win.

Lars Sullivan just walked out. They need to pair him with Braun.

There was not much really to share from either show this week. Not much fallout from Night of Champions.

The Yearly draft starts on Friday night with Smackdown and will conclude on the following RAW

I am glad to see that Bayley/Sasha finally imploded. I loved Sasha in NXT playing the ultimate heel, it’s time she plays that part again.

Some storylines are going to change, other will start to be build.

Heading to Hell in a Cell in a couple of weeks.

I am taking a short break but will be back fo the start of the draft on Smackdown on Friday/Saturday

NXT: Takeover 31

It’s going to be an interesting night. I am not sure that any belts will change hands but it should be a good show. I would think stars want to do well with the draft starting on Smackdown this coming Friday.

NXT first show in the Capitol Wrestling Center. This is the NXT version of the Thunderdome.

**I did read a rumor that a possible storyline between Kyle/Adam concerning the Undisputed Era.

Rhea Ripley has made it known to Triple H that she wants whoever walks out of NXT tonight with the Women’s Belt.

Damien Priest was unhappy how the mixed tag match ended, In talking to Mr Regal, his match with Johnny Gargano will kick off the show.

I think the match of the night will be Isaiah “Swerve”Scott facing Santos Escobar. At least I’m hoping it’s allowed to play out without interference from the outside.

**MAIN SHOW** Beth Phoenix/Wade Barrett on the Announcers Desk

Damien Priest facing Johnny Gargano for the North American Title. Damien has had enough of Johnny and is going to work. Damien can take a beating but you can see when he flips that switch and has had enough. Razor’s edge on the apron. Even with a low blow, Damien still kicked out. Johnny tried a distraction at ringside. What a hell of a match with Damien keeping the title. (this was a great match to open with, it was better than I expected)

Kushida facing Velveteen Dream — These guys are trying to kill each other. It’s been another great match, each has had their time featured in the match, they are pushing each other past their limits. Kushida holding Velveteen in an armbar, Velvet finally had to tap out (armbar submission – not sure how much damage Kushida did during the match to that arm, even after winning Kushida went back to try and cause more damage)

**October 28th is Halloween Havoc in NXT

Cruiserweight title in on the line with Swerve Scott who has Santos Escobar number. Both times the belt has been up , Santo has manage to cheat to keep it. (I told you so, there are the numbers advantage.) Holy Crap, Swerve just kicked out of his patton pin. Even with help with numbers Santos still manages to keep the belt. (so far its my pick for match of the night)

It’s The Women’s title match with Candace LaRue facing Io Shirai. It’s not going to be pretty, Io can play as dirty as Candace. Candace can get a little too confident and I have seen it backfire on her. Candace had controlled most of the match but Io has fought her way back in this. Johnny and Candace have tried everything and nothing has worked. The girls gave an amazing match but it was not meant to be for Johnny or Candace (as they leave empty-handed) Even trying to take out the ref, Johnny putting on a ref’s shirt. Toni Storm just announced her return to NXT.

HOLY COW — There was a motorcycle rider on screen, it pulled up to a door and walked in the Center. Standing at the top of the run, they took off their helmet and it was Ember Moon who has announced her return to NXT

Main Event — Kyle O’riley facing Finn Balor. I really can’t see why they would take the belt of Finn, just put it on him. My money is on Finn, he has the experience, everything you need in a title match defence. Kyle made a mistake and now Finn is in control. It’s been a war, to say the least, but Kyle is injured, spitting up blood from something that has happened. Kyle and Finn are going to leave it all in the ring. These two are completely exhausted. I do not know how but Finn will walk out with the win. I have to give props to Kyle for one hell of a match.

Finn helped Kyle up, showing match respect. Tristan Rogers came out with Adam Cole over his shoulder. Adam had taken a beating.

NXT — Final Show before TakeOver

Shotzi Blackheart on her way to the ring facing Dakota Kai with Raquel Gonzalez in tow. Shotzi will have her hands full. Shotzi is an even match for Dakota. Raquel tried but Shotzi is still holding her own. That was a hell of a move but it worked. Thank you, Rhea, for that bit of interference to take the focus off Raquel, helping Shotzi get the win.

Behind the scenes looking at Kyle O’reilly’s career so far. This will be his first major single title match.

Thanks to Candace, Tegan has a torn ACL.

Cameron Grimes on his way to the ring. I hope whoever he faces, they punch him in the face. The kids are really giving him the boo’s and I don’t blame them. Rich Holland on the way to the ring. Rich beat Cameron to a pulp and left. Made my day.

Kushida in a match tonight (will meet Velveteen Dream on Sunday at Takeover) facing Tony Nese. Kushida has developed quite the mean streak, taking it to Tony, getting Tony to tap out. Dream on the big screen. This could be one of the matches of the night on Sunday.

Adam Cole in the ring. Talking about the Undisputed Era. How they have been so dominate over the years. Adam just called out Austin Theory. Impromptu match. (If they think Kyle has a chance Sunday, I don’t think so) At least Adam is doing it on his own. I am kind of impressed with both Cole/Theory.

Kayden Carter/Kacy Catanzaro (Kayden in singles action) facing Xai Li. It was a good match, Xi still not showing post match respect. Kayden/Kacy doing what is right/Xi is just ignoring them.

Shawn mediating a chat between Kyle/Finn. Both showing respect for each other. Kyle is more known for his tag team career, this is his first real single’s career title shot. I can’t see them taking the belt off Finn, not right now.

Damien Priest/Io Shirai in a mixed tag match against Johnny Gargano/Candice LeRae. Johnny pinned Damien but with the low blow thanks to Candace, they got the win. I can’t see why there would be any title changes right now unless its storey dictated.

Ric Flair is opening the show, Big Show, Christian on his way out, here comes Shawn Michaels. Shawn introduced Drew McIntyre. Randy says that he will be given a title shot. Because of who he is. Drew has issued an open challenge.

A rematch of Last Night’s Women’s title match with Zelina Vega facing title holder Asuka. Zelina keeps working on the arm that is tapped from last night. Zelina makes a mistake and Asuka will make her pay. Asuka made Zelena tap once again.

Andrade in the ring screaming at Zelina that she is nothing. According to Andrade, Angel Garza was injured last night. Andrade sent an open challenge, Keith Lee answered. Needless to day Keith Lee snaps the win.

King’s Court with Jerry Lawler hosting The Mystero Family.

Natalya/Lana on the way to the ring. They are demanding a title match. Adam Pearce out telling the girls they can earn their way to a title match facing Mandy Rose/Dana Brooke. Mandy Rose with some new move in her arsenal as they bet Natalya/Lana

Kevin Owens facing Aleister Black. Kevin with the win. Aleister DQ for hitting a Ref.

Murphy facing Dominic Mysterio (thanks to Seth sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong) It’s been a battle with no one really having the edge at this point. Aaliyah begged Dominic to just stop what he was doing. Rey called her naive, Aaliyah slapped Dom.

The Hurt Business (M.V.P/Shelton Benjamin/Bobby Lashley) facing Apollo Crews/Ricochet/Mustafa Ali. Bodies flying everywhere.Finally, Mustafia/Apollo/Ricochet steal the win.

Drew McIntyre with his open challenge. Dolph has brought out Robert Roode. Dolph got involved also but Drew made short work of him. It’s a seesaw match but for now its all Robert. Drew sending Robert to Claymoore country for the win.

Randy got back into the build with nobody seeing him, got into the room where they boys ere playing poker and knocked everyone out. Getting away sight unseen.

Clash of Champions

Starting with the pre-show getting background on matches. It will be interesting today to see what actually happens. I am not sure too many belts will change hands. I am reading (which I will call rumours) what might happen tonight but we also know that can change at the last minute. Tonight, I also think will set up for some major matches to take place at Survivor series.

BREAKING NEWS — Nikki Cross is NOT medically cleared to compete tonight. (this will be addressed tonight) Also, Shayna/Nia is NOT cleared tonight to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles. (this will be addressed on RAW tomorrow night)

In the pre-show tonight, The Lucha House Party is facing Cesaro/Shinsuke for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. It’s been all Cesaro/Shinsuke in this match. Shinsuke got rid of Lince Dorado, which changed the match. Shinsuke/Cesaro keep the tag belts.

Let’s get this out of the way — Shut Up Cory

1st match in the main show tonight is the triple threat ladder match for the Intercontinental Title. Jeff Hardy is the current titleholder, A.J Styles says that Jeff stole the belt from him, Samy Zayne says he is the rightful titleholder (Samy did not defend the title for 6 months. All titles MUST be defended every 30 days) this has turned into a pretty good match, they are letting them go. What a crap end to a match, Samy handcuffs, Jeff, A.J is handcuffed to Samy. OMG, this turned into such a crap match. It could have been a great match.

Samoa Joe has joined Tom and Byron at the announcers Desk

2nd match tonight is the RAW Women’s Title. Asuka facing Zelina Vega. I really can’t see this title change hands tonight. I think the high ups will want Asuka to hold the title till Wrestlemania. Zelina had her moments, (she gets in the ring more and she will become very dangerous) Asuka was challenged but it wasn’t enough. Asuka holds on to the belt.

3rd match tonight is the United States Title match with Apollo Crews facing Bobby Lashley. I can’t see Apollo leaving with the title but he is going to have to go to that place to have any chance I think. (M.V.P at ringside with Bobby)(I missed Ricochet in Apollo’s corner). Apollo had no choice but to tap out, locked in that full nelson you have no choice.

4th match tonight is the RAW Tag Team belts currently being held by The Street Profits who are facing Andrade/Angel Garza. I am as surprised as the announcers as to how well, Angel/Andrade are working together. Street Profits needed a good challenge, to test their limits. Street Profits held on for the win but the pin may need to be reviewed. Possible rematch because of call.

**THE DRAFT IS COMING Starting on Smackdown October 9th, finishing on October 12 on RAW.

5th match tonight is supposed to be Bayley vs Nikki Cross for the Smackdown Women’s Title. Nikki is not medically cleared. Waiting to see if Bayley has a title match. OMG, Bayley with an open challenge, Asuka walked out. (Summerslam rematch)Bayley with a D.Q to keep the belt. Bayley went after Asuka with a chair but it was Sasha from behind with a chair shot on Bayley. Bayley is stunned, to say the least

Match number 6 tonight is Drew McIntyre facing Randy Orton for the WWE RAW title. (this match has been the rumoured match that the belt will change hands, I am really hoping not. No clue why they want to take it off Drew)Remember: It’s an ambulance match, the only way to win is to load your opponent in the back of an ambo and shut the door. The Big Show just appeared out of nowhere, show just dropped him on the announcer’s table. Christian having his way with Randy, gives Drew a chance to regroup. (I Love that everyone Randy took out is coming back to haunt him) Shawn Michaels just sent Randy Orton flying off the roof of the ambo. Drew with one more kick as payback, with the slam of the ambo doors, Drew keeps the belt. (thank god they left the belt on drew. Ric flair behind the wheel, driving the ambo out of the ring. (this would have to be one of the matches of the night for me)

****FOUR WEEKS FROM TONIGHT Hell in a Cell

MAIN EVENT — Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso. With the rumours of wanting Roman to hold the belt till Wrestlemania. Establishing Roman, as a genuine heel character. It’s going to be more interesting to see this story play out. I have read that the ending of this match, could be a set up for a new storyline. Roman is manhandling Jey. The Universe is very vocal not liking what is going on. Roman telling the Ref he is going to do what he wants. Jey never saw that punch coming. Jey with some life using his tag team thinking. This match actually turned out better than I expected it to. Roman pissed that Jey would not lay down and take the payday. Roman telling Jey that he had better acknowledge him. The ref tried to stop the match but Roman told him to back off. Jimmy came out. Jimmy the in the towel to end the match. This is one unhappy universe, and to be honest, so am I.
