Super Showdown

This is one of those shows to expect the unexpected when you least expect it.

Let’s get this out of the way now, SHUT UP COREY!

Gauntlet match, (pin fall, count out or D.Q is how you eliminate your opponent) R-Truth vs Bobby Lashley to open the show. R-Truth some how managed to pin Bobby Lashely, Andrade out now, No clue how R-Truth managed to beat Andrade but he did. Rowan was disqualified, so now its A.J facing Truth. A.J took out R-Truth who had to tap out. (I dont blame R-Truth). Anderson/Gallows took out Rey Mystero so A.J is thinking he has it won, no issues. There is still one more opponent to go. (The rumor is true, Undertaker to face A.J and should again at Wrestlemania.) Taker didn’t even get his jacket off when he give A.J a major choke slam pinning him for the win.

The New Day vs John Morrison/The Miz for the Smackdown Tag Team Belts. I was a good match, could of been better until Morrison with the chair/the Miz holding the tights to steal the win and the belts. (yes, I know story line but still)

Angel Garza vs Humberto — Again, another match that could of been great but once again, Angel playing the heel takes the win. Humberto is looking like a great promise as long as they manage him correctly.

Rollins/Murphy vs The Street Profits for the RAW Tag Team Belts. Rollins/Murphy somehow manage to hang on to the belts by the skin of their teeth. (not much to tell, figured this would not change hands until Wrestlemania) There was nothing rally special about the match.

At the time of this blog its 38 days until Wrestlemania.

Dolph Ziggler (Robert Roode) facing Mansoor. Official got rid of Robert Roode who was running his mouth. Roode tired to throw off Mansoor but nothing worked. Cocky Dolph, Mansoor kicked out of the Zigzag. That was a beautiful top rope layout with his knees landing in Dolph’s gut for the win.

Brock Lesnar vs Ricochet for the RAW Universal Belt. I can’t see this one changing hands until Wrestlemania. It will be a better match with Brock going against Drew McIntyre. Don’t get me wrong, Ricochet is amazing but I dont think today is his day. Needless to say it was not Ricochet’s night. Brock has this look on his face, like you wasted my time. If the opponent was a better match to Ricochet, it could of been different.

Steel Cage match with Roman Reigns facing Baron Corbin. Really hoping this ends it. Its been a seesaw match. No one really getting the upper hand so far. The classic climb to the top of the cage but they came crashing back to earth. Thanks to a heavy chain, it was a superman punch, knocking out Corbin allowing Roman to get the win.

Bayley vs Naomi for the Women’s Smackdown Title. This is another match that I can’t see changing hands until Wresltemania. Hoping they are given a chance to have a really good go. Bayley using the T shirt that Naomi had to wear, stealing the win.

Final match of the night is Goldberg facing The Fiend for the Smackdown Title. 4 spears and some how the Fiend has managed to save himself. Holy crap kids, The Universal title has changed hands. That was weird but it was great. You normally don’t see Goldberg get frustrated but this time we saw it. This was a complete surprise, did not see this win coming at all.

WWE Thoughts

NXT: Takeover Portland was the best yet. The Match with Keith Lee facing off against Dominik Dijakovic was the best match of the night. They have a great respect for each other, I think make each other even better. They will have some great future battles.

The Story lines are heading for Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia. It was surprise announcement when Lacey/Natalya were announced. It would be great to see more ladies added to the card. Bayley will be defending her Smackdown belt against Naomi. Goldberg vs The Fend — I wish Goldberg would win but I have a feeling Fend will keep the belt until Wrestlemania. There are other titles on line, it will be interesting to see if any change hands. Ricochet facing Brock Lesnar, I can’t see Brock winning, will mean more for Drew to beat Brock at Wrestlemania. It actually makes for a better match Drew facing Brock.

It’s the going home shows for both brands. I don’t think anything will be too surprising at Super Showdown on Thursday. Working out the time change I will miss the live show by a few hours, unless I wake up.(anything is possible)

Randy Orton facing Edge at Wrestlemania is still on the cards as far as I know. There has been no update on Edge condition, I consider it to be story line related. Here’s hoping that Edge gets the win.

Cousins, Angel Garza vs Humberto with Zelina at ringside. With Andrade on suspension until super Showdown they needed something for Zelina it feels like. Garza plays the heel well. Cocky attitude of a heel is a must. (Shut up Jerry) Once again holding the tights gets the win.

I can’t wait for Drew to beat Brock and making him go away for good is something I cant wait for. I wish Ricochet could do it but the better match will be with Drew at Wrestlemania. It’s really sad that the belt is never defended like it should be when Roman or anyone else holds it. Just because Vince over pays the man to do nothing but Defend the belt when Brock feels like it. Go back to the farm Brock and stay there. (I can’t wait for Drew to beat him to a pulp)

Erick Rowan in a rematch with Aleister Black. Aleister was jumped by the O.C. Not really sure WHY The O.C even attacked him. Aleister with the win, I have no clue how he did it.

Bobby Lashley vs R-Truth. I have no clue why this is even taking place before super Showdown. They will face off in the gauntlet.

Asuka, Sarah Logan, Natalya, Ruby Riott, Live Morgan, Shayna Blazer out for their contract signing for the Elimination Match. (Rumor is that Smackdown will be getting their own Elimination match. Street Profits vs Murphy/Seth Rollins.

Randy Orton facing Kevin Owens. With help from Seth, Randy gets the win. Randy with help from a so called official who tried to take out Kevin with a couple of chairs, was actually set up with help from Seth. Kevin put the so called ref through a table.

NXT: Takeover Portland

I think this could be the best takeover yet IF, the athletes are allowed to shine.

**MAIN EVENT** — Tommaso Ciampa vs Adam Cole for the NXT belt. This match will be brutal. Adam Cole is another one who needs dropped a peg or two. I really want to see Cole in a fight with out Undisputed Ear sticking their nose in to make sure the belt stays with Cole. What an emotional ride this is, they are digging so deep that they are leaving it all in the ring. Undisputed Era did all they could but it was Johnny Gargano who RUINED the match by making sure it was Adam Cole who won.

**Match 4 — Rhea Ripley (Adelaide, South Australia) vs Bianca Belair (married in real life to Montez Ford of the Street Profits) for the Women’s belt. This one could steal the show, they are both super contenders to hold the belt. I think Shayna held the belt for way too long. It’s time for a positive and to really build up the women’s division. I can’t see any reason for a title change at least for now. Here’s hoping for a great match but no title change. It was a hell of a fight but Rhea with the win. (Charlotte vs Rhea for the NXT belt at Wrestlemania)

**Match 5 — The Undisputed Era vs Pete Dunne/Matt Riddle for the NXT Tag Team Belts (Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Rielly) . The Era is showing signs of cracks in the armor and I hope this is another crack. Its getting boring with the Era pulling all their crap. It’s time for a fall from grace. the fall from grace just happened as Matt and Pete win.

**MATCH 1 — Keith Lee defends the North American Belt against Dominik Dijakovic. This should be a great match,The things these two big guys can do in the ring is mind blowing. They have had super matches in the past and I am expecting nothing less. Keith is the 6th man to hold the belt since it has been created. A man as big as Keith at 320 pounds should not be able to do half the stuff he does. this is the first match of the night and its already setting the bar.

**Match 2 — (Only way you can win is in the ring by a pin or submission) Tegan Knox vs Dakota Kai in a street fight. This has been building for awhile. They both are going to have to go to the dark place to survive. Who is willing to go there? Neither will be the same after this match.With HELP Kai wins the match.

**Match 3 — Johnny Gargano vs Finn Balor — since Finn has gone to heel status he is just plain nasty. It’s good to see him shine again. Johnny can also go to that dark place, its going to come down to who wants the win more. This match has a lot to live up to, the Keith Lee match has set the bar for the night. Johnny did all he could but it was Finn who takes the win.

RAW on February 10

Becky will face off against Asuka for the Women’s Raw Belt in a rubber match. I can’t see Becky losing tonight but I look for a title change as (rumor here) she is ready to get off the road and start a family with Seth Rollins (they are engaged, no date for wedding that I have heard) Another amazing match with Becky

The Viking Raiders, Samoa Joe(who returns tonight) Kevin Owens facing Seth Rollins, Murphy( just a name change)along with A.O.P in an 8 man tag team match. I can see this feud heading to Super showdown. To everyone’s surprise, Joe returned with Seth least expecting it the most. It fell apart at the start but for now, its been a back and forth battle. Once again, Seth and the boys steal the win.

Street Profits facing Mojo Rawley/Riddick Moss take in the in almost record time. Mojo is clueless as to what just happened. Riddick just pinned Mojo for the 24/7 belt

M.V.P on with the V.I.P lounge, his guest is Drew McIntyre.

Update on Randy Orton/Edge — how Edge is recovering from the R.K.O that Randy gave him. Randy in the ring trying to explain why he hurt Edge. Matt Hardy has come out asking the same issues.

Angel Garza causing issues again, was suppose to face Cedric Alexander. Humberto out to go after his cousin. Garza stealing another win.

Bobby Lashley trying to stop Ricochet from getting to Super Showdown. I have no clue how he did it but Ricochet got the win over Bobby.

Aleister Black facing off against Akira Tozawa. Aleister with the easy win.

Summer Slam travel packages are available on February 18th, the event is taking place in Boston at the TD Garden. Wrestlemaina 2021 is heading to Sofi Stadium (the new home of the Chargers and Rams)

Tonight from San Jose California

No clue what to expect tonight, all I know is that Goldberg is back and I cant wait. Daniel Bryan returns after healing from his match at Royal Rumble

Bayley will defend her belt against the winner of a Fatal 4 way, featuring :Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Naomi and Dana Brooke. What was that, Naomi and Carmella in the end with Carmella getting the win but being attacked by Bayley the bitch.(yea, she has turned into one all mighty heel of a bitch)

The Miz, John Morrison with a shot at the RAW tag titles in 3 weeks at Super Showdown. The New Day will face Miz and Morrison at Super Showdown. The Usos facing Dolph/Robert Roode. Dolph/Robert tried everything possible but The Usos still came out on top.

Recap of Roman/The Usos and how last week played out. King Corbin threw a temper tantrum with the guy in the truck who showed the footage from last week when he got covered in dog food. (Too freaking bad, He can do the same to Roman and get away with it)

Elias in the ring with Samy Zayne screaming at him that Cesaro will kick his backside. No matter what Samy/Cesaro threw at him, Elias got the win.

King Corbin on the ramp screaming garbage about what The Usos who are the ones carrying Roman. Corbin took things too far, going after one of the fans. The challenge from Roman, a steal cage match. (Shut up Cory)

Micheal Cole talking to Goldberg. It will be Goldberg facing the Fend next.

Daniel having a chat with Heath Slater. They are now facing off in the ring. It didn’t take long for Daniel to get the win over Heath. Something is different with Daniel since his match with The Fend.

Congratulations to Braun Strowman who is the new Intercontinental Champion. (you cant wipe the smile off his face)

Monday Night RAW

Recapping Edge’s return to RAW and what Randy Orton did to him. Randy is out at the ring. Is he really sorry or is this story line? (think this is story line) Love the Universe, they will let you know when you have screwed up. The Universe gave Randy so much hell, that he said “I can’t do this” and walked off.

Lana’s music started and I just cringed. Liv Morgan on her way to face Lana, Live won last night and hoping she beats her again. Lana screaming”I’m the best” really?! Liv with the win, all of a sudden, Ruby Riot’s music started/ she has been out with double shoulder surgery. Ruby, just decked Liv.

Drew McIntyre on his way to the ring, facing Mojo Rawley. 24/7 Title is not on the line tonight. It took all of 3 second for him to beat Mojo

Kevin Owens waiting on the Viking Raiders who will face Buddy Murphy/A.P.O (Authors of Pain) Samoa Joe is out with a concussion, why the Raiders are in the match tonight. Seth is at ringside. Only way to win is to eliminate all the members of the opposite team. (first time for the Raiders/A.O.P meet in a match) Kevin did all he could but was not able to hold on for the win. you could see that it was a set up all along to get rid of Kevin.

Updating with Andrade and Humberto. (payback with Humberto dropping Andrade. Andrade who is suspended for 30 days for violation of the wellness policy) Humberto in the ring, Angel Garza who is Humberto’s cousin walked out with Zelina Vega. Angel tried to drop Humberto again but Rey Mystero showed up to help. Universe calling for the 619. Garza being a little brat towards Rey, Garza just dropped Rey in the same way as Andrade did, Universe s not liking this at all.

Charlotte on her way to the ring. (see if rumor holds, that it is Becky she will challenge) Holy cow kids, Rhea Ripley just walked out on the stage, Rhea challenged her but Charlotte walked away.

Asuka on her way to the ring with Kairi at ringside. meeting Natalya in singles action. Asuka with the win thanks to help from Kairi. Asuka demanding a rematch with Becky. Becky agreeded to the match, took out Kairi without breaking a sweat. This match will take place next week on RAW.

Ricochet/Seth Rollins/Bobby Lashley (rumor — Bobby is unhappy, having requested his release) The Winner goes to Super Showdown to face Brock Lesnar. Kevin Owens/Viking Raiders going after Buddy Murphy/A.O.P during Seth Rollins match. (I hope its enough to get Seth off his game) Ricochet with the win but out of no where is Brock with an F-5. WHY. You should hear the Universe booing.

Yes, I know its mostly a man’s world when reporting but that is just more of an incentive to work harder to get noticed.

Most guy’s don’t expect someone from the USA to know the names of Indian Cricket Players or get called by name by the captain of the Adelaide Crows.

This blog will be a unique mixture of sports ranging from WWE, to White Sox Baseball to Australian Rules Football (AFL) to NFL

My love of sports came from being raised in Columbus , Ohio on Ohio Sate Football, during the Woody Hayes era.

Even though Ohio had 2 NFL football teams, it was the excitement of Coach Jimmy Johnson, Troy Aikman and the Dallas Cowboys that has me a life long fan of the club.

I write for fun but you will also discover how passionate I am about my Adelaide Crows, who open their season in March. The Lady Crows open their season starting February 7th, who are the defending Grand Final Winner.
