January 13/14th
I just wanted to apologise for the late notes on RAW. My hubby recently passed away, he was laid to rest on the 14th here in South Australia. I am slowly getting a new routine going, please bear with me as I work through my new life.
Royal Rumble is on February 1
Tonight’s show opened up with a review of last week.
Cole and Pat are on the announcer’s desk once again this week joined by Alicia on ring announce duties.
I love the camera shot following the wrestler to the ring. Tonight’s show featured CM Punk as he got out of his truck. He walked through Gorilla and headed out to visit with the WWE Universe. CM gave a shout-out to all the first responders working on the fires in California. Seth Rollins has joined CM in the ring. Seth along with CM have both declared for the Royal Rumble. Well, let’s add Drew McIntyre into this mix. Add Drew to the list for the Royal Rumble.
Chad Gable is on his way to the ring, he has no clue who he will be facing. Not a huge fan of Chad as a heel. Chad’s opponent is Penta (worse kept secret in the WWE) Penta is amazing, he is coming from AEW. You need to watch this match, don’t blink or you will miss something. It was a dog fight to the end, Penta with the win. Jackie Redmond is in the ring for a post-match with Penta.
Fight Night as Sheamus on the way to the ring, facing off against Ludwig Kaiser.
Seth Rollins will meet Drew McIntyre next week in a match.
Gunther making his first appearance since moving to Netflix. Jey Uso, out to the ring to chat with Gunther. Jey has laid down a challenge to Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Texas.
Dakota Kai versus Lyria Valkyria in the finals of the Women’s Intercontentional Title match. Hoping that creativity allows them to create an amazing match. Dakota and Lyra are evenly matched. It’s been an even match, each having their time to shine during the match. With her finish move of the Night Wing, Lyra is your first Intercontentional Women’s title holder. Dakota with a great amount of respect came into the ring to congratulate Lyria.
Kofi and Xavier are having a whine because of how they are being treated. They are blaming Rey Mysterio because they can’t get into the locker room.
The Miz facing Sami Zayn, not sure what this is all about. Nothing too exciting with Sami taking the win.
Rhea Ripley is on her way to the ring. OK, Nia Jax just showed up and I am not sure what this is all about. Nia says she will be winning the Royal Rumble, taking whatever title she wants. Nia says that she is at the top of the Women’s division. Between Rhea and Bayley they took Nia out.
Damien Priest is facing off against Finn Balor in a street fight that has been ongoing since Summer Slam. There are murmurs among fans that they are getting tired of Judgment Day and feel that something needs to change, as it is becoming old and stale. The match is intense and takes place all over the arena. Currently, the score is tied at three wins each for Damien and Finn. However, JD and Carlito have teamed up to target Damien, turning the match into a 3-on-1 street fight. Fortunately, the War Raiders have arrived to even the odds. They have successfully taken care of JD and Carlito, allowing for a fair fight again. In a dramatic moment, Damien just slammed Finn through the timekeeper’s barricade. With that, Priest secures the win.
