WrestleMania Saturday

I have seen that NXT: Stand and Deliver has set the benchmark. I will catch you up with my show notes for NXT as soon as possible, it was on at 2am here in Australia

**NEWS — Rey Fenix will take Rey Mysterio’s place in his match against El Grande Americano

Cole, Pat, and Wade Barrett are seated at the announcer’s desk, where Alicia Taylor is making the introductions.

**MATCH 1 — What an opening match! Jey Uso is facing Gunther, and it will be interesting to see if Gunther can keep the crowd from influencing the match. Gunther is trying everything to prevent Jey from winning, and it’s clear that he is getting frustrated. Let’s hope he makes a mistake. In a surprising turn of events, Jey Uso made Gunther tap out!**

**MATCH 2 — The RAW Tag Team Titles are on the line as the War Raiders defend their championship against the New Day. (I’ve never been a fan of New Day as heels.) The match played out as expected for heel tactics; they ended up stealing the belts. If they think the Universe will show them any respect now, they are mistaken.

**MATCH 3 –We have the first ladies’ match of the weekend, featuring Jade Cargill facing Naomi. This encounter promises to be explosive. Naomi entered the ring first, showing that she was ready for this storyline. However, Jade managed to catch Naomi in midair, showcasing her impressive strength. Jade was determined not to be denied. At times, Naomi lets her frustration get the better of her, which can lead to mistakes—this time, it cost her. Jade secured her first WrestleMania victory.

**MATCH 4 — The United States Title is on the line as L.A. Knight defends against Jacob Fatu. Solo walked to the top of the ramp with Jacob. It’s been all Jacob with hints of Knight trying to fight back. Knight caught Fatu in a BFT out of mid-air, but it was too close to the ropes for Jacob to break the count. I am not surprised by this outcome. Congratulations to Jacob Fatu on his first singles title.

**MATCH 5 — Rey Fenix, who is replacing Rey Mysterio, who is out with an injury, faces El Grande Americano (Chad Gable). It would be nice to see El Grande unmasked tonight. Chad just slipped the medal plate into his mask. What a waste of a match spot. El Grande Americano steals what could have been a really good match.

Attendance tonight — 61,467 for night one.

**MATCH 6 –The WWE Women’s Championship is on the line as Tiffany Stratton defends her title against Charlotte Flair. There’s definitely no love lost between these two, which promises to make this match intense. They are being allowed to tell their story in the ring, and it’s shaping up to be the match of the night. Tonight’s battle was epic, showcasing their narrative effectively. In the end, Tiffany emerged victorious, with both competitors leaving everything in the ring.

**MATCH 7 — The main event of the night is a triple-threat match featuring CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. This match could go any way, and I would love to see Punk come out on top. However, I wonder if Paul Heyman will play a part in this. Seth enters first, wielding a flamethrower, which is quite the spectacle. It’s unusual not to see Roman with Paul Heyman by his side. CM Punk makes his entrance last, accompanied by Heyman. Since this is a triple-threat match, anything goes. After this, the feud between Seth and Punk can continue, but that raises the question: What will happen with Roman? CM Punk manages to get Seth out of the ring and then hits Roman with a Go-To-Sleep, but Roman kicks out, showing his resilience. As the match progresses, Seth starts trash-talking, attempting to get Roman to help him eliminate Punk. In response, Roman punches Seth and body slams CM Punk onto the announcer’s table. Roman then slams Seth through the other announce table with a brutal move. A fierce spear from Roman nearly takes out Seth, and we see a flurry of moves: a Go-To-Sleep, a spear, and a stomp. At this point, Paul Heyman has a steel chair in hand. Who will he give it to? In a surprising turn, Heyman hands the chair to Punk. Then, he kneels and offers the chair to Roman, but instead, he betrays Roman and gives the chair to Seth. Seth capitalises on this, delivering a chair shot to Roman, followed by the stomp, securing the win.

Paul departed with Seth Rollins.

Roman walks out dejected, with CM Punk still in the ring.
