Fallout from Night of Champions

This should be an interesting show as we head for Evolution.

Cole and Corey are handling the announcing duties. Alicia Taylor is looking after ring announcing duties. Pat is off do to medical reasons. He has been advised to rest due to exhaustion.

NXT Great American Bash is on July 12. Saturday Night’s Main Event is also on July 12. Evolution is on July 13th. Summer Slam is on August 2 and 3. Clash in Paris is on August 31.

Rhea Ripley is on her way to the ring. (Have you noticed they have softened Rhea’s look a bit?) Rhea is just starting to chat about Evolution, but here comes Iyo Sky. Iyo has been told by Adam Peare that she can choose her opponent for Evolution to defend the Women’s Title. Iyo wanted to defend the title against the best, and that is why she chose her.

It’s a Men’s Tag Team title match as Judgement Day (JD and Finn) take on New Day. Both teams can play dirty, so it will be interesting to see who sinks the lowest to win the titles. Well, the belt came into play, but it doesn’t work like it did in the past. (I have never been a fan of the New Day as heels) Well, JD and Finn actually did it without Dom getting involved. Judgment Day wins the Tag Titles.

Bayley and Lyria will meet in the ring per Adam Pearce in a match with the winner becoming the new #1 contender for the Women’s Intercontinental title.

Chad Gable, with his arm in a sling, made Ivy Nile the head of American Made. Chad will have surgery soon to correct the undisclosed issue. No date for his return.

Rusev is waiting in the ring for his opponent, Sheamus. It’s been a pretty even match across the board. Neither has made a mistake, allowing the other to take control. Rusev is playing dirty to get the win, thumb to the eye and an exposed ringpost.

Adam Pearce/Nick Adlis are chatting with JD and Finn about the Women’s Tag Team Belts. Finn suggested that Roxanne Perez take Liv’s place. Adam/Nick agreed, but there is a stipulation that they have to defend them against a team against a team from RAW, a team from SmackDown and a team from NXT, at Evolution.

Evolution will have a battle royal with the winner getting a title shot at Paris.

Karron Kross attacked Sami Zayn. He hit him with a metal pipe. It looked like Karron hit him really hard across his ribs. Will wait and see if it’s the storyline or if Sami is really injured.

Gunther, screaming about who is next for him, Seth Rollins walked out. As Seth was screaming at Gunther, CM Punk came racing to the ring. A lot of this has to do with Night of Champions. Seth never saw L.A. Knight walk up behind him.

Back at Judgement Day, Raquel is having a snit with Roxanne replacing Liv. Raquel is not happy. I can see this setting up a storyline for Liv’s return. Roxy says it’s time to go after Kairi Sane because it was her fault that Liv got hurt.

Bayley is facing Lyria Valkyria for the #1 contender’s spot to face Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Title. Lyria has a new attitude in the ring, wrestling angrily to a point. Bayley has managed to get herself in a bit of control position. Jessica called the match a draw. (This could be how it turns into a triple threat match)

Seth Rollins to face L.A. Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Sami has been cleared in a tag match with Penta. They are facing Braun Brekker/Bronson Reed. This will not be pretty by any means. Paul Heyman will get involved to make sure his boys get the win. It was not pretty. Cue the post-match beatdown. Bronson was heading for a tsunami on Sam, but here comes Jey Uso armed with a chair. Jey is giving much-needed backup to Sami and Penta.

** Just a reminder that I am away for the day tomorrow, NO NXT show notes this week

Originally from Ohio but now call Adelaide, South Australia home. The love of my life Phil recently passed away and I am trying to figure out this new thing called life. Working on getting my Social Media up and running again. Also working on getting more books published. Learning how to trust my instinicts in making decisions is a huge learning curve.
