What’s a girl like me writing about sports?
Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.
— Oscar Wilde.
“What’s a girl like me doing writing about sports?”
It’s a question I get asked a lot. The answer is simple: I love the game. Plain and simple.
I know that reporting is often seen as a man’s world, but I don’t see that as a barrier—I see it as an incentive. It’s the fuel that makes me work harder, dig deeper, and deliver insights that get noticed. Whether it’s the high-stakes world of the WWE or the strategy on the cricket pitch, I’m here to prove that passion and knowledge don’t have a gender.
Most people don’t expect a voice from the USA to know the roster of the Indian National Cricket Team or to have the Adelaide Crows captain, Jordan Dawson, know them by name. But that’s exactly the kind of “slow process” I’m enjoying. I’m building something here and on my YouTube channel that’s about more than just scores—it’s about the community and the craft.
I’m glad you’re here for the journey. Stick around, catch me for a chat, and let’s talk sports.
