For Punk, a decisive win solidifies this championship run as a defining era.

World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins Prediction: Seth Rollins wins the World Heavyweight Championship. Take: The Bloodline 2.0 energy is starting to stall out, and keeping the belt on Roman makes the top picture feel a bit stagnant. While the injury bug is always lurking around Seth, he deserves this big run—and the universe clearly wants the title on Oba Femi down the road. Putting the belt on Seth gives us a fresh champion right now while keeping Roman primed and targeted for Money in the Bank—setting the stage for Oba to eventually dethrone him massively.

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY Prediction: IYO SKY wins the Women’s World Championship. Take: It is long past time to take the title off Liv Morgan. Since Stephanie got hurt, Liv hasn’t really defended the belt legitimately on her own without heavy outside help. With The Judgment Day practically on life support anyway, it’s time to pull the plug on this reign. IYO SKY is the exact reset this division needs—she brings match-of-the-night potential every time she steps in the ring and will immediately restore the respect and prestige this championship deserves.

Interim WWE Women’s Championship 5-Way Ladder Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. 3 TBD Prediction: Charlotte Flair wins the Interim WWE Women’s Championship. Take: Without the full field locked in, this match is tricky to evaluate, but the core narrative is clear: whoever wins this brief ladder match chaos is essentially holding the seat warm for Rhea Ripley’s return. That means WWE needs an interim champ who can carry the belt with gravitas and instantly build a massive unification storyline when Rhea is cleared. If Charlotte Flair locks in a spot, she’s my pick. The deep history and star power between Charlotte and Rhea make for an automatic blockbuster unification match down the line.

Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Chad Gable Prediction: Chad Gable wins the Intercontinental Championship. Take: This has all the ingredients to be the match of the night. Coming off his El Grande Americano storyline, this match is the ultimate showcase for Chad Gable—testing whether he can seamlessly blend his Olympic-style grappling with the lucha dynamics he’s adopted. Putting the Intercontinental Title on Chad is a well-deserved reward for his incredible character work. Plus, taking the singles title off Penta clears the runway for him to team back up with Rey Fenix and completely unleash hell on the tag team division.

Hell in a Cell Match: Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar Prediction: Oba Femi wins. Take: Cell matches are inherently brutal, but when you put two pure forces of nature like Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar inside the cage, it’s going to get downright ugly in the best way possible. With this rubber match heavily believed to be Brock’s final bow, the narrative significance couldn’t be higher. Brock knows the assignment: this is about passing the torch to “The Ruler” and leaving a definitive capstone on his own legendary career. A decisive win inside Hell in a Cell officially establishes Oba as the present and future of WWE.

LA Knight, Solo Sikoa & Royce Keys vs. The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) 6-Man Tag Team Match.

Prediction: LA Knight, Solo Sikoa & Royce Keys win. Take: The biggest story entering this match is trust—specifically, whether LA Knight and Royce Keys can actually rely on Solo Sikoa when things get chaotic. The Usos and Jacob Fatu have the undeniable advantage when it comes to chemistry and raw destruction, provided nobody’s ego derails the game plan. However, LA Knight is long overdue for a major, positive breakout moment. The Referee’s Nightmare: The official will have their hands full trying to keep control or enforce rope breaks as both men ignore standard rules to inflict damage.

Key Storytelling Elements — Physical Parity: Both men stand 6’4″ and weigh around 240–250 lbs, giving the matchup an even, believable heavyweight dynamic from the start. Gear as Mind Games: Gunther: Enters in his classic Ring General jacket with cold detachment, treating the match like a routine execution of a paper pusher—until Aldis lands his first heavy strike. Nick Aldis: Sheds the suit for classic wrestling gear, signalling that the general manager is stepping aside for the veteran champion.

Ring Rust vs. Grit: Gunther aggressively targets Aldis’s chest and wind to exploit his three-year ring hiatus, while Aldis relies on leverage, heavy punches, and his King’s Lynn Cloverleaf submission to slow Gunther down.

The Finish & Aftermath — Gunther’s Mindset: Has zero respect for Aldis as an authority figure, viewing him as someone who hid behind a desk because he couldn’t handle the ring. The Tone & Dynamic — Very Nice, Very Evil Relief: Coming off heavy, violent emotional wars like Gunther/Aldis, Rollins/Reigns, and the Bloodline 6-man, this match gives the SummerSlam crowd a chance to breathe, laugh, and lose their minds over Danhausen’s antics. The Antagonist: Dom enters expecting an easy target—a guy who throws cursed sand and talks about sacks of human money. Dom thinks he can coast, act arrogant, and treat Danhausen like a joke.

2. In-Ring Storytelling & “The Fire” The Comedy Spots: You give the crowd all the classic Danhausen beats—the logic-defying mind games, trying to curse Dom, putting teeth in Dom’s mouth, or pulling out giant sacks of cash. The Turning Point: Dom gets frustrated by the absurdity. He tries to use his usual Judgment Day-era cheap tactics, but without his faction there to bail him out or create distractions, it backfires. Sparking the Mysterio Grit: Danhausen’s bizarre style gets under Dom’s skin so badly that Dom has to ditch the cowardly, whiny act and actually fight. For the first time in years, you see Dom drop the cool-guy front, snap, and start hitting sharp, fast-paced, high-flying Mysterio-style offence out of pure instinct and pride.

3. The Payback Finish (Danhausen Victory) How Danhausen Takes It: Dom gets overconfident trying to hit a classic Mysterio move to finish it off. Danhausen catches him off-guard—maybe with a full curse, a distraction involving teeth, or a clever roll-up leverage pin—and steals the win! The Crowd Explosion: The stadium goes wild for Danhausen getting his hand raised and securing a massive bag of human money, while Dom is left sitting in the ring in absolute disbelief.

4. The Aftermath: The Repackage Begins For Danhausen: He gets a huge, fan-favourite SummerSlam moment and a nice “payback” win that keeps his character wildly entertaining and beloved. For Dom: This loss to Danhausen is the ultimate bottoming-out moment. Losing to a guy who curses people forces Dom to look in the mirror, realise the Judgment Day persona isn’t working anymore, and officially kick off his journey to redefine himself as a serious, fiery Mysterio in his own right.
